SL Barrel Horses has moved! Our time at LoneStar Riding Academy came to an end on March 28th.
We found out in the middle of March that the facility was being sold. It wasn’t on the market for more than a few days when they got an offer. I made a post on Facebook about how sad I was that things were ending there and an amazing opportunity presented itself. An amazing friend and former boss called me almost immediately. She manages a super cool facility here in town and has welcomed me use to it and to bring boarders with me.
The New Facility
The facility includes a covered arena, a round pen, eurociser, stalls, paddocks, and pasture space. There is one other boarder there, plus the property owners horses, and Kathryn’s horses. I moved all of my stuff out of LSRA and into Infinity Equine Services last Friday. My client moved her horse Sunday.
Delayed in Starting Lessons
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19, we are having to put our lessons on hold until the beginning of May. We will have fun with our new set up.
Amenities
There are plenty of poles and jumps available for us to set up hurry-scurry. I also took my barrels and poles with me as well as having extra barrels we’ve been given permission to use.
Having a covered arena means there will be fewer lessons canceled. We can turn horses out in it, lunge them or just ride. There is a second outdoor arena (that needs footing) we will eventually be able to use.
We are looking forward to being able to get lessons started back up and get out horses back in shape for the rest of our gymkhana season!
