My 2016 “To Do List” — Barrels and Lessons

IMG_2280

In 2015, I set goals for things I wanted to achieve for the year, however I didn’t achieve many of the goals on that list. For 2016, I am going to try a different approach. I am working on a 2016 “To-Do List”! I am not going to set goals for 2016, I am going to have to-do items that checked off as that get completed. There are many that I would like accomplish in 2016, both business and personal. As I start to plan out my year and my race schedule, I am going use my “to-do” list to prepare myself and my horses to be successful!

I know that the month of January is almost over, however we are in the heart of winter and in may places there is limited riding being done do to weather and the conditions. I am fortunate enough to live in California and as long as the arena isn’t flooded or slushy we are able to ride. We may not being working the pattern each time we step foot in the saddle, but you are teaching your horse something each and every time you handle that horse. As part of my “to-do” list, I am making sure that I include teaching my horse/s something new every time I put my hands on them.

Some of the items on my “to-do” are for personal growth and for making me a better person and horsewoman. Other items are business related for both the training/lesson side and the patching side.

A sample of the items on my “TO-DO” list are:image

  • Increase my Aculife level to Gold
  • Be consistent in purchasing of patches to hold my active status
  • Host an advanced Aculife Patching Clinic with Brett Baize
  • Enter Dori and Cash in 5 races each by the end of 2016
  • Build my training/lesson/patching businesses enough to go part-time at TSC
  • Pick up a few more sponsors
  • Start Polly under saddle
