Dreaming of 3 is an organization that is close to my heart. It was started by an amazing lady named Jackie; she wanted to pay tribute to her father and stepfather who both passed away from cancer and heart disease. As a team member of DO3, I have committed to donating 10% of all my barrel racing winnings to The American Cancer Society in honor of my best friend.
In February of 2007, my college best friend was diagnosed with cancer. In 2012, she lost her battle, 4 days after her wedding. It was one of the toughest times in my life and I turned to barrel racing. I found Dreaming of Three one day on Facebook and did some digging. After much thought, I decided to dedicate the rest of my career to helping raise money for cancer research. Brenna was one of my biggest supporters in college and I felt the best way to honor her memory was to continue chasing my dream and donating some of my winnings in her name.
I have been able to donate a little over $200 dollars so far, which doesn’t seem like much, but it is giving me a peace of mind that I am able to help in some way.
